A NATION-BUILD IS MORE THAN ENTERTAINMENT
J. Grant Swank, Jr.
The last election was mushed on entertainment. The mob hysteriacs voted for a celebrity, hence the groping thousands showing up for his inauguration.
Unbridled mob hysteria plus crass liberal media shoved B. H. Obama into the office.
How tragic. America is far better than that tawdry base. America must achieve much more than American Idol and Dancing with the Stars to remain a first-rate country.
Countless educators are bewailing today’s students not able to spell, compose an essay and produce a speech worth grading. Classrooms are run by the antic-propped know-nothings.
Americans are glued to Who Wants to be a Millionaire and such cash-win whatevers. That’s sad for it reveals a raw lust for money money money. Money has become a huge idol for many citizens, not only the young.
Too many households are babysat 24/7 by TV rather than actual fleshed mothers and fathers. Too many houses are not homes. They are shelters where worn mothers strain to hold together offspring.
Is this really the America we want? I don’t think so. However, obviously a number of citizens are content with that.
As I watched the inauguration, I wondered what kind of people were out there in The Mall. I knew there were some sincere fellow Americans. I also considered that there were no-read no-heed hysteria driven voters who had not done their homework.
The mob-led elected as President of the United States a hot ticket. But a hot ticket is not what America needs in the Oval Office.
B. H. Obama was wept into the White House. He was applauded, danced around, fawned, and smooched onto Pennsylvania Avenue. But in-depth thought did not go into it.
So now we have an entertainment-based nation caught with a celebrity who has never been properly vetted. He has no real administrative skills, apparent by the losers he chose to fill his cabinet. He has been surrounded by low-lifes and criminals who are now sitting in executive chairs close to the Oval Office.
Yet the facts are that the United States has slipped to this frightening level?
Can America recoup?
It is up to each American. It is up to the citizenry to take inventory of where we are and where we ought to be. It is up to every American household to do a double-check on what is important and what is trivia.
Is it quality to build our house on an entertainment sand dune? Is it safe to construct a future on a celebrity-based officialdom? Is it prudent to have in governmental leadership criminals and liars?
Let’s face it. That’s where we are now. We have some of the worst personages named by celebrity President to hold sway over entire departments. We have individuals who know basically nothing about what their assignments are.
Yet all the while Michelle and B. H. party the nights away in the White House, entertaining, of course. Entertainment got them there. Entertainment, they conclude, will keep them there.
And if the Republican Party does not wise up its own house, the party nights for the Dems might just continue for quite some awful time.
